NOVA / EQUIPMENT & TECHNICAL SUPPORT
HOW IT FITS THE OPERATION
Engineering context for better-defined decisions.
An operating question can cross the boundaries between the well, surface equipment and production facilities. Engineering support helps organise the available information around that question: what is happening, which constraints matter, and what technical work is needed to support the next decision.
NOVA’s consulting scope spans project development and existing-asset discussions. This can connect feasibility, concept, FEED or detailed-engineering requirements with field and reservoir management, well integrity, maintenance or artificial lift considerations. The work begins by agreeing the question and the appropriate technical output, rather than assuming every project needs the same study.
APPLICATION CONTEXT
Development planning
Greenfield projects and brownfield development move through different stages of definition. For existing assets, explore field redevelopment, well integrity, production optimisation and facility-upgrade considerations. The engineering scope should reflect the maturity of the information and the decision that the project team needs to make.
APPLICATION CONTEXT
Production and asset support
Existing operations generate questions about performance, maintenance and equipment changes. Bringing operating records and field context together helps define a focused technical review.
APPLICATION CONTEXT
Equipment coordination
An equipment-related decision often involves interfaces beyond the main unit. Engineering discussion can help organise the required inputs and responsibilities across the proposed package and the existing installation.
Application first.
Start with your operating conditions, technical requirements, and project priorities.
Project development
Engineering support for brownfield and greenfield development, from feasibility and concept through FEED and detailed engineering.
Field & asset support
Discuss field and reservoir management, well integrity, well maintenance, enhanced oil recovery, and artificial lift maintenance requirements.
Start a technical conversation
Useful information includes the application, fluid characteristics, operating pressure and temperature, required capacity, existing equipment, and project location. Share only information appropriate for an initial enquiry.
Turn an operating question into a defined technical scope
Frame the decision you need to make
A useful technical discussion starts with a clear objective. You may be comparing equipment options, defining a replacement requirement or assembling information for a project enquiry. Explain the decision, the constraints and the information already available. Where operating performance is part of the question, distinguish measured data from estimates and describe the conditions under which the information was collected. This gives the discussion a practical basis.
Agree the inputs and expected output
Identify the drawings, datasheets and operating records that can be shared, together with any gaps that remain. Clarify whether the immediate need is an equipment discussion, a review of alternatives or a defined engineering task. The scope, deliverables and responsibilities should be agreed before work begins. This keeps the enquiry proportionate to the decision and makes it easier to establish what further information or specialist input may be needed.
WATER RECOVERY · DESIGN · REUSE
Produced-water recovery engineering.
NOVA is developing an engineering and business offering around industrial water and high-salinity produced-water recovery. The starting point is the water resource, the proposed next use and the practical fit with the operation. The treatment route and proprietary process details remain within a project-specific discussion.
01

Design & integration
An initial design discussion brings together water characterisation, the required treated-water quality and the interfaces with existing facilities. Review pretreatment and filtration needs, utilities, controls, monitoring and the handling of residual streams as part of a coordinated recovery concept. Study scope can progress from feasibility and concept definition into front-end engineering design and detailed engineering where agreed. Technical feasibility, recovery targets and the final treatment arrangement are established for the specific water and application.
02

Intended use & commercial value
A recovery opportunity needs an identified use for the treated water. Potential industrial applications may include suitable process-water duties, cooling-system make-up or other site-specific demand, subject to the required water quality. The business case considers water-supply and disposal costs, energy and chemical needs, operating support, infrastructure and the management of remaining streams. Compare these factors with a credible demand for the recovered water, rather than assuming a reuse project will automatically create savings.
Potential potable-water use requires a separate suitability assessment supported by testing, applicable drinking-water requirements and approvals. It is not implied by industrial reuse or media filtration. Service availability and scope are agreed for each project as the offering develops.
