THE COMPLETE SYSTEM

Start with the well.
Connect the equipment.

A sucker rod pumping system connects a surface pumping unit to a downhole pump through a rod string. The surface unit is therefore only one part of the installation: the equipment below ground and the existing completion are equally important to the application discussion.

NOVA’s portfolio includes conventional pumpjacks, sucker rod equipment, downhole rod pumps and related training services. Whether your enquiry concerns a new supply scope, a replacement assembly or individual spares, the starting point is a clear view of the equipment already in place and the outcome you need.

HOW IT FITS THE OPERATION

A mechanical connection from surface to downhole.

In a sucker rod pumping installation, the surface pumping unit transfers motion through the rod string to the downhole pump. The equipment at surface and the assembly in the well are therefore parts of one operating arrangement, rather than independent products selected in isolation.

NOVA’s rod-lift discussion brings conventional pumpjacks, rod equipment and downhole pump components into that system view. An enquiry may concern one component or a wider package, but understanding the relationship between the parts helps keep the proposed supply connected with the actual well and existing installation.

APPLICATION CONTEXT

The surface-to-downhole interface

The pumping unit is the visible part of the installation. Its relationship with the rod equipment and downhole assembly belongs within the application review, including the equipment that will remain in service.

APPLICATION CONTEXT

Rod equipment and connections

The rod string connects surface motion with the downhole pump. Rod references, connection information and documented requirements are important when identifying replacements or defining a coordinated supply.

APPLICATION CONTEXT

Downhole pumps and parts

The downhole assembly needs to be considered alongside the completion and fluid information. Identifiable component references help separate a complete pump enquiry from a request for specific replacement items.

ONE APPLICATION. CONNECTED REQUIREMENTS.

Define the scope from surface to downhole.

01

Surface pumping equipment

Discuss the pumping unit and associated surface requirements alongside the well and downhole assembly. For an existing installation, identify the unit, available nameplate information and the operating observations that prompted the enquiry.

02

Rod equipment & connections

Consider the rod equipment as part of the complete installation. Existing references, connection details and documented material requirements help define a compatible replacement or a coordinated supply scope. Appearance alone is not a reliable basis for a spare-part order.

ROD REFERENCES / COMPATIBILITY

03

Downhole pumps & components

Build the pump discussion around the completion information, fluid description and intended operating duty. For replacements, identify the existing assembly and component references so that dimensions, connections and documented specifications can be reviewed together.

DOWNHOLE EQUIPMENT

Give the pump the same attention as the pumping unit.

A useful equipment enquiry connects the downhole pump with the rod equipment, tubing and surface installation. Identify which elements remain in service and which are being supplied or replaced. This keeps the proposed package tied to the actual well rather than an isolated component.

Share the available well depth and completion information, the fluid description and the production objective. Where drawings or measurements are incomplete, identify the gaps at the start. Final sizing, material selection and compatibility require confirmed application information and the specifications of the proposed equipment.

A CLEARER ENQUIRY

From a requirement
to a coordinated scope.

A clear enquiry helps focus the discussion on the equipment and information that matter. Bring together what is known, identify what needs confirmation, and distinguish existing equipment from the requested supply.

01

Describe the duty

Explain the production objective, available fluid information and operating conditions. Include the current pumping arrangement and the reason for change, such as a replacement requirement or a wider equipment review.

02

Identify the existing equipment

Provide nameplates, part numbers, useful photographs and the drawings available to your team. Include tubing and rod references, documented dimensions and relevant material or connection requirements.

03

Separate parts from packages

For spares, list each component reference and quantity. For a broader package, distinguish the pumping unit, rods, downhole pump, controls and associated items, with the requested supply boundaries clearly identified.

04

Confirm the technical basis

Review compatibility, the confirmed equipment specifications and any outstanding information before defining the final supply scope. Discuss the related training or technical support required for your team.
